Part-Time City Maintenance
The City of Jewell is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team in a part-time City Maintenance position. Work under the direct supervision of the Superintendent to maintain our local parks, city property, and community building.
Key Responsibilities
- Grounds Care: Mow, trim, seed, fertilize, and maintain city parks, playgrounds, and other lawns.
- Facility Upkeep: Perform custodial work, clean restrooms, empty trash, and prep facilities for community events.
- Basic Repairs: Complete semi-skilled painting, plumbing, carpentry, and building maintenance.
- Equipment Care: Safely operate and service, mowers, loaders, and various power tools.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in landscaping, park maintenance, or equipment operation.
- Ability to work independently and perform strenuous physical labor in outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently (and up to 100 pounds occasionally).
Job Requirements
- Valid Kansas State driver’s license.
- Reliable telephone service for emergency contact.
